On Tuesday August 9th, fashion journalist and style guru, Kate Betts celebrated her first book, Everyday Icon, Michelle Obama and the Power of Style with an elite crowd at MISTER COLLINS inside ONE Bal Harbour Resort & Spa. At an exclusive fete hosted by Lara Shriftman, Iran Issa-Khan, Sarah Harrelson and Criselda Breene, Betts mingled with guests amid a picture-perfect view of the Atlantic Ocean and chatted about the book’s behind-the-scenes account of the First Lady’s fashion statements.

Other notable guests in attendance included fashion designer Lady Genie Nuttall and Lord Brabourne, former model Ines Rivero, interior designer Sam Robin, hotelier Jonathan Breene, as well as Alejandra Torres, Pedro and Fernanda Domit, Amanda Church, Gary and Dana Shear, Ashley Turchin, Michael Breene, Lauren Beall, Carolyn Travis,Hernan Arriaga and Fabio Lopes, and Cheryl Stephenson.

Party-goers sipped on cocktails courtesy of GREY GOOSE Vodka paired with a savory summer menu from the hotel’s on-site restaurant, MISTER COLLINS, which included pretzel bites, mushroom burgers, tuna tartare and shrimp cocktail. Upon departure guests were gifted a chic, ultra-sleek Stephanie Johnson wristlet pouch filled with items that included aCalypso Passport Card, tote bag and sarong, gift certificates from Curve Soleil, Cosabella gift cards and lingerie, Shiseido Anti-Aging UV Protection Cream, as well as a selection of men’s and women’s Converse  in white leather.
