Haute Event Preview: Art Greenwich

Art Greenwich – a cultural experience like no other – brings to Fairfield County an array of dealers from around the  world offering artwork, sculpture, and jewelry in a unique, elegant venue nestled in beautiful Greenwich Harbor. The five-day event takes place aboard SeaFair- America’s Megayacht Venue- docked at the marina of the Delamar Hotel September 15th – 19th.

SeaFair’s specially built exhibition vessel Grand Luxe has proven to be an ideal venue where dealers display their work and invite and host their many existing clients in each region.

“It’s like a private club,” noted one long-time exhibitor.  “Clients like the intimate atmosphere, the elegance of the vessel, and the ability to simply sit on the sky deck with their friends and enjoy a drink and the beautiful harbor setting”.

At Art Greenwich, visitors will find ….

  • Paintings of all periods including 17th to late 19th century American Hudson River School, luminist style,   British sporting, European masters.  Among the artists represented will be Thomas Cole, Childe Hassam, and Winslow Homer
  • Contemporary and emerging artist’s work – paintings, sculpture, and photography
  • Mid-20th century objet d’art from French and American designers- representing Deco, avant-garde and Italian Futurism design
  • Period 20th century signed jewelry by Verdure, David Webb, Van Cleef & Arpels, Yves St. Laurent, George Jensen, Tiffany & Co., Jean Despres, Cartier and Madame Gripoix Chanel
  • Spectacular new jewelry designed by Yvel
  • Modern and Mid-Century Murano glass
  • 50 million year old fossils as art from the Eocene Era
  • Modern masters including works by Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, Alexander Calder, Salvador Dali
    Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein
  • A special exhibition- “Made in China”- presenting the works of 17 contemporary Chinese artists whose works span from the mid-90s to today

Art Greenwich will be docked at the Delamar Harbor at 500 Steamboat Road in Greenwich, CT. Easily accessible parking can be found next to the hotel. Fair hours will be Friday and Saturday, September 16th and 17th, from 11am to 9pm and Sunday and Monday, September 18th and 19th, from 11am to 7pm. Tickets are $15 for a one-day pass, $20 for a one-day priority admission, $ 20 for a multi-day pass or all can be purchased in advance at a discounted fair price on the Expoships website. Children under 10 are free.
