HAUTE AMBASSADOR : MAX GIROMBELLI
by HauteLiving

Summer and the vacations that surround it are unfortunately over, but for New Yorkers, fall holds the promise of wonder and excitement not only in the city, but in the surrounding countryside as well. The foliage begins to turn and as a result, nature’s color palette does too. And as always, the distinguished gentleman dresses the part.
A great country jacket is always at the top of my fall wardrobe list. Leather buttons lying neatly against a deep green or burgundy checked jacket, or even a more classic Harris tweed, and this becomes the quintessential look for apple picking with the family.

When it comes to suits, I adore two fabrics from the Super 150’s Loro Piana book. Yes, both are the same pattern in different colors, but each tells a different story and I find them equally necessary. The deep royal blue windowpane with grey over-check is perfect for nights out, while the classic grey with a heavy stitch all around the suit, including the side of the pant leg, is better suited for a daytime business meeting. You’re sure to be admired for knowing that the same fabric in different colors is what makes it appropriate for different occasions.
And of course, for fall there is a different take on the classic favorite, the blue blazer. I suggest opting for two different velvets; one in a classic two-button style and the other very different and almost Asian in inspiration—both very chic.
When you’re well dressed, fall in New York is fantastic.
