Haute 100 Update: What Jetlag? LeBron James Hits the Court with Charity Camp Kids Immediately Upon Arriving in Taipei

LeBron James arrived in Taipei, Taiwan very early this morning and wasted no time hitting the court. (Guess those Sheets are working!) His opponent this time was a group of 18 children and teens in a charity camp that was selected by the Eden Social Welfare Foundation and Nike Taiwan to get the opportunity to play with the all-star.

James landed in Taipei on his private jet around 2:00 am EST today and headed straight for the court where he shot hoops and practiced with the children as around 100 other young players watched on with excitement, many of whom come from underprivileged families in rural communities.

The 26-year-old Miami Heat star spoke to the children and expressed how sports positively influenced him and encouraged them to play the sport with passion. On the court, however, James kept the talking to a minimum and instead practiced passing and shooting with this kids, impressing them with the occasional trick or slam dunk.

16-year-old Daniel Yang was one of the children who got to practice with James, even getting to play some one-on-one with the seven-time NBA All-Star. He gushed, “Thank God. I’m so excited.” He said James really took an interest in the kids and encouraged them with his words and high-fives as he saw how hard the kids were trying to learn.

James will also meet with fans on Friday, August 12, and lead a youth team in a friendly game organized by Nike.
