South Florida-based billionaire, ardent philanthropist, and Subway sandwich chain co-founder Fred DeLuca is now accepting grant proposals for a slew of projects in the U.S. The Frederick DeLuca Foundation is headquartered in Milford, CT – where Subway was founded 46 years ago – and assists pubic charities with grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 to help others along with their dreams.

The focus for consideration in awarding the grants is on education, job training, and the arts, but the foundation in open to applications from all kinds of non-profit organizations. While the foundation does say it discourages elaborate proposals, they are annually accepting applications and proposals from September 1 through October 8 with decisions to be made by New Year’s Eve.
