Haute 100 Update: Steve Jobs Biography will be Released Earlier than Expected

A highly anticipated biography about Apple co-founder Steve Jobs will be released earlier than previously expected, which was said to be March 6, 2012. The revised launch date has been announced by publisher Simon and Schuster to now be November 21 of this year.

The book, titled Steve Jobs: A Biography, is written by Walter Isaacson, a former Time magazine editor who has previously written biographies on figures such as Henry Kissinger, Benjamin Franklin, and Albert Einstein.

The 448-page book is based on over 40 interviews with the Apple founder – in which Jobs said he held nothing back – and numerous additional interviews with his family, friends, enemies, competitors, and colleagues. The editor explains, “The book traces the ups and downs of the intense life of a creative entrepreneur, whose passion for perfection has revolutionized six industries: laptop computers, movies, music, phones, tablets and digital publications.”

Jobs himself has generated a lot of interest in the book by commenting, “I did a lot of things I’m not proud of. I have no skeletons in my closet that shouldn’t see the light of day.”

The changed release date has also sparked concern that is motivated by Jobs’ health problems, including two bouts with cancer. Isaacson, however, dispelled the rumors, explaining, “The progress of the launch date is in no way related to a deterioration of the health of Steve Jobs. I finished working on the book during the month of June. It is now ready for publication.”
