Haute 100 Update: Michelle Bernstein’s new Design District Café, Crumb on Parchment

Chef Michelle Bernstein has established herself as a prominent figure in the culinary scene, and it all started in Miami. A new café-style eatery from the celebrated chef, called Crumb on Parchment, has opened up in Miami’s Design District to the delight of South Florida foodies and the refined downtown lunch crowd.

Located at 3930 NE Second Ave., Crumb on Parchment has been open now for a while, but has now really hit its stride. A more relaxed and cozy spot, the boutique-style restaurant serves up breakfast all day, light soups, salads, and sandwiches. Delectable offerings include Boulangerie-style dishes and classic American baked goods, like tuna sandwiches with spicy pickles and kimchi aioli and simple yet sumptuous chocolate chip cookies.

In addition to Crumb’s decadent desserts like red velvet cupcakes, coffee cake, and lemon meringue pie, which are all made in-house, patrons have also warmly embraced the atmosphere. Pleasant, homey details abound, like utensils and napkins in quaint tin buckets, and pastries and sandwiches being served up in the restaurant’s signature parchment.

Crumb on Parchment is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and is available for private parties after hours and on the weekends. For more information, visit the restaurant’s Facebook page.
