Haute 100 Update: Jared Kushner Plans Luxury Residential Makeover for SoHo’s Puck Building

Jared Kushner – principal to The Kushner Companies, heir to and publisher of the New York Observer, Ivanka Trump’s husband, and very recent new father – has revealed some big plans for SoHo’s landmark Puck Building. The mixed-used building will be receiving a luxurious residential makeover in addition to a posh rooftop to take advantage of the locale’s amazing views.

Kushner is planning up to six plush and energy-efficient units that will range from 5,000 square feet to 8,500 square feet in size, with prices ranging from $15 million to $50 million. The units are planned to have their own private lobby and an entrance on Lafayette Street while, in addition, four luxe penthouses will also boast private terraces.

The plans include the eighth and ninth floors being completely re-modeled, with the proposed rooftop project still to be approved by the city’s Landmarks Commission. A 39,000 square foot area of the ground level is currently undergoing construction for an REI outdoor gear store that is set to open in November.

A source commented on the upcoming luxury makeover, “They are designing six, very customized high-end homes with great finishes, big closets and layouts planned as if they were moving in themselves.”

Other floors of the building are being leased by both small and large office tenants, including Thrive Capital, a venture capital firm that is run by Jared’s brother Joshua.
