The third annual Wade’s World Weekend, the benefit hosted by Miami Heat superstar and Haute 100 Miami member Dwyane Wade, has been confirmed to take place in Chicago from August 25 to 27. The event benefits the Wade’s World Foundation, which provides support to community-based organizations that promote education, health, and social skills for children in at-risk situations throughout the Chicago and South Florida areas.
Since its inception, the high-profile event has succeeded in drawing out tons of celebrity supporters from both the sports and entertainment realms. This year, singer Estelle will be performing at the weekend’s kick-off party on August 25 while R&B royalty Erykah Badu will be the DJ – under her DJ name, DJ Lo Down Loretta Brown – at Wade’s party at the Hard Rock Café on August 27.
The weekend will also feature a “Wade’s Chicago Has Talent Showcase” on August 27 at the Chicago Theatre to be attended by singer Juwan Harris, comedian Lil Rel and Rocsi, co-host of BET’s show, 106th & Park.
