Situated on the sprawling greens of Laguna Seca Golf Ranch, Concourso Italiano occurred on August 19th, 2011 and was a celebration to Italian style.  Jaunty live music played near the concession stands and in mid afternoon a made in Italy fashion show happened on the stage.  Individual owners entered, showed and spoke about their cars for a chance to win awards for restoration and condition.

Whether it was in the parking lots or in their own respective corrals,  the horses and bulls made a strong showing.   Ferrari lovers ogled the breathe taking black Enzo, blacked out 458 with a matte black wrap on its hood, coveted F50s and F40s as well as classics like the 328 whose owners who vied for one of the awards given out by the show.  Lamborghini sponsors like Lamborgini Newport Beach presented the new Aventador in all its aggressive splendor.

Also prominently featured was the zippy Fiat 500.   The manufacturer cheekily showed the car’s predecessor alongside the newly reissued and redesigned 2012 edition.   The coupe and cabrio on display were equipped with special modifications like perforated leather interiors or signature Italia stripes.

Also included in the show were Masaratis and Alfa Romeos.  Specialty antique bicycles had their own area as well.

Many vendors and clubs has their own stands offering a wide variety of products from custom built miniaturized model cars, antique car posters to the usual Ferarri and Lamborghini embroidered shirts and souvenirs.

As the sun peeked out from the morning fog, festivities were in high gear.  The smell of grilled Italian sausage and BBQ oysters mixed into with the smell of gasoline as many of the engines revved to life for a parade to pick up their respective awards.  Concourso Italiano is truly a wonderful experience for the tifosi of Italian style.
