Everyone loves eating and drinking al fresco but, being London, there’s sadly no guarantee that the sun will be shining all summer. If you don’t fancy holding a glass of Bollinger in one hand and a brolly in the other, check out Meza’s new Moroccan summer garden.
Situated on the site of the legendary Marquee Club and Mezzo, the Wardour Street bar and restaurant (owned by Sir Terence Conran) has taken its inspiration this summer from Marrakesh – Morocco’s famous ‘red city’ – and transformed its crimson atrium space into a hedonistic Bedouin tent.
Here you can lounge on plushly upholstered ottomans and sofas, while sipping spiced cherry mojitos and basil and honey daiquiris. On the food front, executive chef Richard Sawyer has created a mouthwatering range of North African inspired including tabbouleh, flat breads, hummus and merguez sausages that lend well to sharing with friends. (Top tip: book for a group of 12 or more and enjoy a complimentary cocktail on arrival). Meanwhile on Wednesday and Thursdays, you can enjoy live music to help you feel like you are really in the heart of a souk!
