Whole Foods Coral Gables Celeb Chef Summer Cookoff

Whole Foods Market in Coral Gables celebrity chef summer cookout will continue on Wednesday, August 3. The first battle, won by Timon Balloo of Sugarcane Raw Bar Grill, took place on Wednesday, July 20 against Daniel Ganem of Kane Steakhouse.
During the celebrity chef Fill the Grill cook-off on August 3, renowned local chefs Samuel Gorenstein of BLT Steak at The Betsy and Michael Jacobs, chef of the Miami Heat will have 20 minutes and $20 to speed shop for ingredients. The chefs will then get 20 minutes to make a delicious, creative summer meal using only a grill.
The final event will take place on Wednesday, August 17 between Balloo and the August 3rd winner. All challenges take place at 6:30 pm, and are free and open to the public.
A panel of judges including Fred Gonzalez of Miami.com, Lesley Elliott of Miami New Times’ Short Order food blog and Devonie Nicholas of the Food Network South Beach Wine and Food Festival will determine which chef goes to the finals.
