The Guggenheim’s Art After Dark Party
by Mary Nagle
We all love a day at the museum, but sometimes the crowd is so chaotic that you wish you’d just stayed home and watched an episode of Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations to get your culture fix instead. We feel your pain. That’s why we get very excited about special events that remove the crowd but keep the class. Introducing your activity for this Friday night: The Guggenheim’s Art After Dark Party.

Once those noisy crowds have left for the day, the Guggenheim will open its doors to members and their guests for a private viewing of special exhibitions while an artist- or curator-selected playlist plays in the background. From 9 p.m. until midnight, attendees can enjoy a cash bar and soak up the peaceful tones of a museum after hours.
Art After Dark is a new series of seasonal events at the Guggenheim centered around a special exhibition or program. At tonight’s event, the featured exhibitions will be those of two visionary artists; Lee Ulfan: Marking Infinity and The HUGO BOSS Prize: Hans-Peter Feldmann. Veteran Guggenheim artist Slater Bradley has composed a delightful playlist for the listening pleasure of members and their guests.
So come to the Guggenheim’s landmark building to see the acclaimed works of two extraordinary artists. It is sure to be an enjoyable and, dare I say, relaxing, time at the museum.
