Save the Date: August Moon, A Wine & Art Event in Honolulu

The only thing better than an event showcasing the island’s top artists and the world’s best wines is one that benefits something worthwhile.
“August Moon: A Wine & Art Event” is just that, pairing a lineup of Oahu’s top artists and an evening of winetasting under the stars on Aug. 6 at the Honolulu Academy of Arts.
Local artists — such as Solomon Enos, May Izumi, Jon J. Murakami and Maika‘i Tubbs — will draw live at the event, scheduled to start at 6 p.m. After each artwork is finished, the piece will go on sale, with prices starting at $25. Proceeds will benefits arts education in Hawaii.
In addition, dozens of vineyards — including Allan Scott Family Winemakers from New Zealand (shown), Nani Moon Mead from Kauai, J Moss Fine Napa Valley Wines and Kopke Ports founded in 1638 in Portugal — will be offering tastings of their vino.
The wines will also be paired with nosh from various restaurants including Pavillion Cafe, town, Duke’s Waikiki and Whole Foods Market.
Cost is $85 per person, $600 for a table of four or $1,200 for six with a complimentary bottle of wine. Find out more by visiting the academy’s website or calling (808) 532-8700.
