Ocean Drive Icon Hotel Breakwater Reopens

After a multi-million dollar renovation, Hotel Breakwater has finally reopened. Designer Stephen B. Jacobs is behind the hotel’s new look, which features sophisticated and modern furniture, fabrics, and accents. The luxurious materials have updated the iconic hotel, but the décor stays loyal to the Art Deco style it originated with.

The 100-room boutique hotel offers guests a variety of amenities. Standard rooms are available with a city or ocean view, and each boasts a king-sized bed, sitting area, flat-screen television and internet access. In the bathroom, Pharmacopia products and a rejuvenating rainforest shower combine to make the ultimate retreat. Each private penthouse is complete with an ocean view and secluded terrace, and some feature private plunge pools.

Hotel Breakwater’s multiple lounges cater to all different types of guests. The rooftop Intimissi Lounge is intimate, furnished with daybeds and loveseats. There’s also the Wellness Garden, perfect for guests looking to enjoy relaxing time in the pool or lounging under a cabana. Finally, the butlered Internet Lounge is perfect for anyone needing to get some work done.

Dining at Hotel Breakwater is as unique as the hotel itself; at NINE, guests are invited to enjoy European-American cuisine crafted by three executive chefs Ezequiel Zingoni, Billy Devlin and Manuel Mattei. The menu features organic and natural dishes, from pizza to local seafood. NINE is complete with a regional cheese bar imported from Europe.

Regional Hotel Director Axel Gasser says of the hotel, “We aim to provide our guests with an unfiltered lifestyle experience that goes beyond anything tangible. Our concierges, or ‘magicians,’ as we like to call them…help us achieve our goal of making each individual’s wishes—no matter how big or small—come true. This is what we call our 100 Percent Wish Guarantee.”
