Nur Khan Takes Hold On Something Electric In The Big Apple
by Diana M. Jacome

Listen up you dance hall booty shakers in the big apple, there’s rumor’s of a new project that will be in the works in the swanky Meatpacking district—Electric Room, which will be situated in the newly opened Dream Downtown. Electric Room, that will hold no more than 100 people will be managed by no other than Nur Khan, who’s decided to team up with the Strategic Tao Group to get straight down to business with this up-in-coming venture.
Khan— having four years of major success running Rose Bar at Ian Schrager’s Gramercy Park Hotel, parted ways to go and open Kenmare and re-launch Don Hill’s that died out rather quickly, is now back in the management game with the new venue.
The Electric Room— will be secretly darted beneath the Dream Downtown hotel, and will be revealed by an inner staircase close to the elevator banks of the roof club. The lounge will be pretty small and very intimate. Noah Tepperberg, who gave a sneak peak of the hotel, reports that the space will be sort of like SubMercer, only difference would be that the Electric Room wouldn’t be broken up into multiple rooms and will be similar to the main floor of Avenue, filled with sky high ceilings this box like club will have a few tables which will surround a private and sexy dance floor right smack in the center of the place.
Plans for the location are ones with high hopes. Tepperberg anticipates targeting the downtown locals, mostly those that will make this spot one of New York City ultra-exclusive nightclubs. And with the help of Khan, this might actually be a “dream” made in heaven. A neat thing the Strategic Group will be doing is they plan to join with many of their pasted entertainers as partners as employee’s, umm who’s next to jump in on the fun?
Electric Room expects to open up its sleek doors for Fashion Week this up coming fall. Just in time for the festivities!
