Louis Vuitton Island Maison Opening In Singapore
by Jessica Militare

Imagine one of the world’s most celebrated fashion houses opens its own architectural islet off the shore of a Southeast Asian metropolis. Louis Vuitton is doing just that, cultivating its first state-of-the-art Island Maison at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, set to open September 18th of this year. A modern masterpiece of angled floor to ceiling windows, the unmistakable LV monogram will boast its fifth store in the city, but the nautically inspired isolate will be the first of its kind.

Behind the blueprint is international architect Peter Marino, who plans to instill art and culture in the retail space, the interior design representing the aesthetic disposition that Marino intends to execute.

A ground floor of men’s and women’s leather, shoes, accessories and ready to wear, a mezzanine of travel luggage and accessories to celebrate the essence of a globe-trotters journey, a private lounge for personal exhibitions, and even an outdoor loggia evocative of a luxury yacht comprise the space’s core.

Most innovative is the interconnected tunnel that allows visitors access to the Marina Bay Sands Mall, the passage featuring contemporary artwork for the eye. At the entrance of the tunnel, visitors will land in the Louis Vuitton bookstore, equipped with an array of artistic titles recommended by the luxury line.

If you think this is the last stop of the gift shop, the opulent goodness doesn’t end there.

From the bookstore, a spiral staircase leads guests to a space displaying timepieces, fine jewelry, and other leather goods illustrative of the brand name.
