Head to Head with Celebrity Chefs for a Summer Cook-Off: Whole Foods Market hosts $20/20-Minute, Fill the Grill Challenge

The pressure is on at Whole Foods Market in Coral Gables, where top celebrity chefs will go head to head at the Fill the Grill cook-off. Twenty dollars in hand and with twenty minutes on the clock, the chefs will speed shop for ingredients and then be given just a third of an hour to invent and execute a delectable summer mean using only a grill.

Participating chefs include Daniel Ganem, of Kane Steakhouse; Timon Balloo, of Sugarcane; Samuel Gorenstein, of BLT Steak at the Betsy; and Joshua Wahler, of Symcha’s.

The first battle takes place on Wednesday, July 20 followed by round two on Wednesday, August 3. Judges will then determine which victorious contestents will move on to compete in the finals, which are set to take place on Wednesday, August 17.

All challenges will begin at 6:30 pm.

Recipes created by challenge winners will be posted online for home cooks to download for free, after the fact.

Whole Foods Market, Coral Gables, 6701 Red Road, 305-421-9435.
