Haute Yachts: The RS Venture Sailing Dinghy, a Superyacht’s Perfect Sidekick

Like the cherry on top, superyachts need that one final touch to complete it. RS Sailing will soon be launching their RS Venture sailing dinghy – the perfect accompaniment to your haute yacht. With versatility in mind, the multi-role family dinghy is 16 feet in length and capable of fitting up to 6 people – or a maximum weight of 500kg – making it perfect for anchoring down and exploring that hidden cove or enjoying a leisurely tour up the creek during a stopover. Additionally, owners can have the dinghy named to match the yacht and choose special color-way sails to make the RS Venture the superyacht’s perfect sidekick.

According to Charter World, the RS Venture has been designed to deliver great performance under sail, sit on a mooring, and provide the user an option of deploying an outboard engine on the back of the craft. It allows for a more leisurely and natural choice for those who aren’t necessarily looking for speedy tenders. It is light enough for easy use but also provides superior stability through its impressive width and low freeboard. The craft’s performance can by amped up with retrofitted spinnaker kits for those seeking a little more zip to their trip.

The Venture boasts a huge cockpit, made possible by its well-forward set mast. An optional thwart lends the craft additional room and the ability to stow the outboard engine in the rear locker. Gone are the days of belongings rolling around the floor as underside tank stowage bags can be clipped into place, whether it be snorkeling gear or frosty refreshments to be stored in the designated cool bag compartment. Should you decide to take a dip, a boarding ladder can also be fitted, supplying a great swim platform.

The RS Venture is currently undergoing the final stage of development with testing to continue through the summer. The official launch is slated to be at the Southampton Boat Show 2011. For more information, visit www.rssailing.com.
