Haute Time: Brazilian Football Legend Ronaldo Receives Parmigiani Pershing Chronograph 005 CBF, the First of a Special Collection

Luxury Swiss watchmaker Parmigiani Fleurier has embarked on an exciting new partnership with the legendary Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF) to be their official watchmaker. The Parmigiani Pershing Chronograph 005 CBF is the first of the special line, with the source of its inspiration being iconic Brazilian footballer Ronaldo, also known as “il fenomeno”.

As sports legends have always inspired the brand, the first piece of the special CBF collection was presented to Ronaldo by Ricardo Terra Teixeira, President of the Brazilian Football Confederation, before the friendly match between Brazil and Romania. The stunning watches are engraved with the emblem of the CBF on the back of the case and Ronaldo’s, in particular, is decked out in the official colors of the Brazilian Football Cenfederation, gold, blue, and green.

Ronaldo’s Pershing Chronograph is a striking two-tone piece of steel and rose gold, and features the symbolic blue color on the dial, which is embellished with a Côtes de Genève guilloche pattern. Five green stars, which represent Brazil’s five World Cup wins, have replaced the small seconds indexes, and the hour and minute chronograph counters are accented with green numerals and yellow gold hands.

Parmigiani was already a partner of the Olympique de Marseille French football team, and forges ahead with this newest partnership with the CBF. This latest agreement has been established until at least 2015 and Parmigiani will unveil their CBF collection in its entirety in early August to mark the friendly match between Germany and Brazil.
