On Saturday, July 23rd, 2011 I attended a private sneak peek of ” The Tents” directed by James Belzerat NewFest, the NY LGBT Film Festival. Select press and film festival attendees were able to see the new stunning fashion documentary before it’s release in September. The documentary follows in the foot steps of The September Issue by taking you behind the scenes of the fast paced fashion industry.
The film follows the growth of NY Fashion Week from venues all around Manhattan to the birth of the The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) in Bryant Park in 1993 to Lincoln Center, Fashion Week’s current residence.
“With NY Fashion Week moving from Bryant Park after 18 years to Lincoln Center last year, it was a great opportunity to tell the story of how NY Fashion Week has evolved and become so important to New York as a global fashion capital,” says first-time Director James Belzer, former Business Development Director at Harper’s Bazaar.
With candid and funny interviews from some of your favorite designers and insiders including; Carolina Herrera, Betsey Johnson, Nina Garcia, Michael Kors, Richie Rich, Donna Karen, Zac Posen, Glenda Baily, Robert Verdi and many more. This is a film you don’t want to miss!
