Friday night, Nick Lachey kicked off Fourth of July weekend with a bachelor party at Tao at the Venetian. The soon-to-be-hitched Lachey, whose future wife Vanessa Minnillo had her own girl’s night out at Lavo at the Palazzo a few weeks ago, brought nearly 30 friends from for the festivities. The group, including Lachey’s former 98 Degrees bandmates brother Drew Lachey and Justin Jeffre, along with actor Geoff Stults and Houston Texans quarterback Matt Leinart, dined at Tao, picking out signature dishes from the Asian hot spot.

After dinner, they made their way to the nightclub, taking over a table on the dance floor as DJ Reach gave Lachey a shout out and his friends raised shot glasses in a toast. A custom ball and chain cake from Gimme Some Sugar was delivered by a bevy of beautiful cocktail waitresses. The cake design was a reference to Vanessa Minnillo, who at her Lavo bachelorette bash got on the mic to announce, “I’m about to get a ball and chain.” Making sure his love was not forgotten at the party, the ball was inscribed with “Property of Vanessa.”

Earlier in the day Lachey and friends soaked in the sun in a cabana at Tao Beach.

Shawn Marion of the NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks partied at Tao Nightclub before hosting a championship party at Lavo on Saturday.
