Haute 100 Update: Ryan Seacrest Foundation Opens Media Center for Hospitalized Children
On Friday, July 15, Haute 100 member Ryan Seacrest was at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for the ribbon cutting on the Ryan Seacrest Foundation’s newest location for “The Voice,” their innovative media program where hospitalized children can engage in a closed circuit broadcast multimedia center, with activities including radio, TV, DJ-ing, and watching live artists – much as Seacrest himself does.
The program offers hospitalized children an exciting opportunity during a time when they most need it. The hospital explained, “The Voice will offer a creative outlet for patients to learn about the broadcast arts, operate an in-house studio or even to listen to the broadcast, and call in requests.”
Furthermore, “The Voice” will also involve students from local journalism schools, colleges, and universities, offering them an opportunity to experience first-hand the ins and outs of broadcasting, programming, and operating a multimedia center with technology such as a BSI Op-X management system, E-V microphone, and SAS board.
The Ryan Seacrest Foundation had previously opened a center similar to this one in Atlanta before coming to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and the foundation plans to expand “The Voice” to other locations.
