Egg & Dart and Harry’s Pizzeria To Open In Miami’s Design District
by HauteLiving

Jonathan Eismann’s fall from restaurant superstardom was a difficult one for both our eyes and our stomachs to bear. In a mere year, we said farewell to Pacific Time, Q, Fin, and Pizza Volante. What’s worse? The spaces stood empty for months on end, darkly looming over the 2 block stretch on North Miami Avenue as melancholy ghosts.

Andalus eventually opened earlier this year in the former Pacific Time space. But the spots housing Q, Fin, and Pizza Volante would bear more difficult to fill due to their expansive spaces and high rent costs. For awhile, it seemed as if they would never be claimed. Thankfully, the resurgence of Wynwood and the adjacent Midtown areas have sparked an interest in the once dying Design District neighborhood.

Set to open this Wednesday, Egg & Dart will open in Q and Fin’s former spot, as a modern Greek taverna. Their motto: Rustic Greek cuisine in a modern setting. Owned by Greek entrepreneur imports, Costa Grillas and Niko Theodorou, the 202-seater aims to be the district’s newest hot spot and date spot serving traditional Greek fare, vibrant cocktails, and a great interior space. Egg & Dart will also participate in Miami Spice nightly offering marinated Greek lamb kebabs, seafood kebabs, horiatiki salad, and galactobourico, a traditional Greek dessert. vanilla orange flavored custard phyllo cake.

It was also leaked this week by both Eater and Miami New Times that Pizza Volante has been taken off of the market by neighbor Michael Schwartz. Reopening as Harry’s Pizzeria sometime in the Fall, the restaurant will serve pizza, salads, beer and wine making sure to continue the laid back atmosphere present at the chef’s namesake flagship restaurant. This will be Michael’s third restaurant and the first departure from Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink. It’s truly been a long time coming and we’re sure it’ll be extremely successful. Continue to follow Haute Living for all restaurant news.

Egg & Dart is located at 4029 North Miami Avenue and can be reached at 786.431.1022. Egg & Dart opens on Wednesday, August 3.

Harry’s Pizzeria will be located across the street at 3918 North Miami Avenue.  No other information is yet available.
