Contemporary Design Store elemental Opens at Bass Museum

On July 21, the Bass Museum of Art in Miami Beach welcomed a new installation: elemental. The design store replaces the gift shop, bringing in a wave of creative, interactive products that mesh perfectly with the museum’s progressive exhibits.

Mauricio Gomez, founder and owner of elemental, travels around the world in search of these treasures. Regardless of whom they are by or where they are from, Gomez makes sure each item fits his three requirements: smart design, a combination of technology and sustainable principles, and approachable pricing.

Thus, elemental@thebass brings innovative, artistic products to the museum. Inventory includes sugar jar-shaped solar-powered night lamps and a candleholder made of a marble and resin cast of the designer’s hand. Each item’s unique artistry sparks creativity and conversation.

“Life is comprised of the little things; now you know where to find them,” said Gomez.

elemental@thebass is open Wednesday to Sunday from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. For more information visit www.elementalstore.com.
