Christian Louboutin Opens Vegas Boutique

Christian Louboutin introduces their latest U.S. boutique, which opened its doors in Las Vegas on June 30th, 2011.  The new store is located inside the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace and marks the second location for the French luxury label in fabulous “Sin City”.

Eric Clough, the principal architect of design firm 212box, has worked side by side with Mr. Louboutin in designing many of his worldwide boutiques.  Mr. Clough, well known for his work in developing codes and ciphers, put a literal interpretation to Mr. Louboutin’s desire to create a “new language” for the boutique, tapping into our innate ability to assign meaning to symbols and letters through our relationship to language.

Clough covered the façade and front bag room with more than 6,000 non-repeating wood tiles that engage the viewer.  On each of the 2 ¾ inch sandblasted tiles, are letters from more than 32 languages, drawn by Clough’s twelve-year-old nephew.  As Clough explains, “one could easily spend hours trying to decipher some meaning from the symbols. We wanted the façade’s design to help establish a sense of place and authenticity.”  One unique highlight is the special edition of Las Vegas tiles, displaying Mr. Louboutin’s face gazing from various playing card icons, and secret messages which adorn the tile walls.

A separate room, dedicated exclusively to our growing men’s collection, is marked with tinted acrylic displays. The walls are clad in small, uncoated copper tiles, which will eventually oxidize into a beautiful emerald green.  Each tile is etched, cut, and hand folded from designs that are inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s ceramic tiles.  Clough states, “In fact, the tiles were inspired while working on the new Christian Louboutin store in Tokyo, where both Christian and I adored Wright’s work in the original Imperial Hotel.  With origami in mind, we loved applying a hand crafted, folding technique that infuses the Louboutin men’s language with a bit of architectural history, as well as, a sense of playfulness.”

Finally, the must-see latest collection for both men and women includes a number of styles exclusive only to Christian Louboutin boutiques.  Whether it is the men’s Alfie flat in calf and glitter, the retro Gloria Botta in black patent with a Lucite and crystal heel or the Madame Butterfly in a luxurious black python, there are many special and unique creations for him, and her, to add an exclusive finishing touch to any Las Vegas experience.
