Haute Partners: Baltus Collection
by Jill Pankow

As world leaders in design, luxury furniture atelier Baltus Collection uses a variety of textures and finishes to produce top of the line, decorative pieces. Each Baltus piece is handcrafted – the materials, size and even the shape can be artfully altered to fit in any space, fostering a sense of cohesiveness.

“Baltus pieces represent a harmonious blend between sophisticated modern lines, artful details and luxurious finishes and materials,” said Director of Branding and Business Development Paul Templeman-Holmes. “Baltus’ stylistic influences range from Palladian to Postmodern, from Inigo Jones to Eileen Gray. All pieces represent the finest in Spanish artisanal craftsmanship and can be optioned to perfectly complete any distinctive modern interior.”

Templeman-Holmes is one of the key players for Baltus Collection, heading up the United States branch of the company. With a degree in both interior design and political science, he worked with some of the most celebrated names in the luxury design industry, including Baker and Jean De Merry.

Though it is based in Marbella, Spain, Baltus Collection has points of sale in many major cities around the globe, including several in the United States. Their first United States-based showroom welcomed clientele to Miami’s Design District in 2009. The brand quickly expanded with shops in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York.

Javier Martin, one of the original Baltus Collection designers, is another power player within the design company. Martin began his studies in technical engineering before delving into upholstery and eventually, design. Over his 15-year career with Baltus Collection, Martin’s work has morphed from contemporary Asian influenced pieces to the sleek and modern wares that Baltus Collection creates today.

Design scheme aside, what the Baltus Collection brand really signifies is luxury.

“Baltus Collection is re-defining elegant living,” said General Manager Irene Restrepo. “There is a divine combination of art and style along with strong architectural pieces and exquisite detailing to create the perfect complement for a luxurious and comfortable lifestyle.”
