Actor Anthony Mackie opens NoBar
by Cristina Alvarez

“The Adjustment Bureau” and “The Hurt Locker” star Anthony Mackie sets the bar high! Not only is Mackie a famous movie star, but now also a restaurateur! The well-known actor has decided to open NoBar, a New Orleans inspired hotspot in the heart of Brooklyn.
Mackie, also a carpenter, played a large role in the creation of the furniture for his new pub. That’s right, he built it with his own two hands! Mackie’s NoBar is nothing like most celebrity-owned, high-priced lounges around New York. In fact, it’s quite the opposite! This celebrity will reportedly be playing a major role as both chef and bartender.
“This is the opposite of those multimillion dollar, basement nightclubs, filled with “who’s who” type places. I hate those!” Mackie told New York Magazine. NoBar is set to open this evening and is located at 608 Nostrand Avenue near Atlantic Avenue.
