YSL, Stella McCartney, and Balenciaga to Open Stores in SoHo

It looks like SoHo is about to add some exciting new names to its stylish list of tenants. Following Diane von Furstenberg’s Memorial Day Weekend opening, it has now been announced that a trio of Gucci Group brands – Yves Saint Laurent, Stella McCartney, and Balenciaga – have all signed leases as standalone stores in the chic neighborhood.
Stella McCartney, one of the first brands to bring their luxury downtown with their store in the Meatpacking District on 2002, will be relocating to SoHo’s Greene Street, where YSL is also set to take up residence. Balenciaga will similarly be relocating to SoHo on Mercer Street. McCartney’s new location’s rent is said to cost $600,000 while Balenciaga’s stands at $1 million. With neighbors like Cartier, H. Stern, and Ermenegildo Zegna, and more, SoHo is definitely looking to be the discerning shopper’s ultimate destination.
