Sean Bernal Named Executive Chef at Blue Door Fish
by HauteLiving

Tucked inside one of South Beach’s most iconic hotels, the Delano Hotel, sits the restaurant Blue Door.

The restaurant, almost as iconic as its home, has recently undergone a transformation and re-opened as Blue Door Fish. The seafood centric restaurant now offers an updated modern seafood based menu that is perfect for today’s health conscious diner. The new menu now features over 50 new items, such as sushi and fruit de mer. Plus, for the non-fish lovers, a variety of items like steak and chicken are available as well. At the helm of this transformation is locally renowned chef, Sean Bernal, previously of Brickell’s seafood restaurant, Oceanaire. His departure from Oceanaire caused an uproar earlier this year and left many wondering where he would go. Thankfully, he landed perfectly on both feet at this great establishment. And for those wondering about Blue Door Fish’s future can rest assured as Master Chef Claude Troisgros remains the culinary mastermind behind the restaurant.

We are hoping that the new chef will bring the success that he had at his previous restaurant. Sean Bernal is best known for serving more than 1000 pounds of “ultra fresh” fish per week. Having studied at the famous Johnson & Wales University, he later gained experience working under Chef Hans Klein and Chef Robbin Hass. He first received national acclaim while at Tambo Restaurant in South Beach. He will not only serve as the restaurant’s executive chef, but will also be in charge of the hotel’s overall food capacities.

Blue Door Fish is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week and features Blue Door’s famous weekend brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays. The restaurant is located at 1685 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. For more information, please visit the restaurant’s website or call 305.674.6400.
