Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batman has more toys and gadgets than many of us could ever dream of, but that’s why he’s the hero – and Gotham’s ultimate playboy. With billions of dollars under his utility belt, Batman will be upgrading his daily driver from the already fierce Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 to the powerhouse Lamborghini Aventador for the upcoming Batman: The Dark Night Rises movie, slated to hit theaters next summer.
Although we would never dare to say that the Batmobile is anything less than adequate, Bruce Wayne certainly can’t take it to run errands on his lunch break in Gotham. The sexy and aggressive Aventador is a stunning piece if Italian supercar that fits the mysterious billionaire just right.

The town has been home to some of the biggest names in music and Hollywood such as Lil Kim, Stevie Wonder, Damon Dash and Chris Rock.
Diddy purchased the home in July of 2004 for more than $10 million from entrepreneur Mark Arzoomanian, who bought the home in 1999 for $4 million. A stunning new Porsche has made its debut – it’s the not the kind you’re thinking of, but it is as impressive. A limited edition Porsche Design watch is now the new lust worthy item from the celebrated brand, and it is several times over more pricey that its automotive counterpart. Priced at $270,000, the piece is a true symbol of Porsche’s sterling craftsmanship.
According to The National, only 50 of these incredible timepieces have been made and only 11 that are specific to this exclusive design and price. Comprised of 18-carat gold, titanium, and rubber, the wristwatch is available strictly under the discretion of Dubai Mall’s Porsche Design store.
With design by Porsche and superb manufacturing by Swiss watch company Eterna, the piece boasts clasps and a body made of sumptuous rose gold with a titanium face and sporty rubber straps evocative of Porsche tires. The face also features a stopwatch and second timer, while a dial turns from green to red as the watch runs out of power. The movement from the watch being worn keeps the stoplight-like indicator powered but, in the event power does run low, it would need just a simple rewinding.
In 2008, the Porsche Design store in the Dubai Mall ordered two of the exclusive watches, which were both sold promptly to the owner of a global beverage chain. The store now carries 7 more of the incredible pieces, but the demand is high. Wael al Takhin, general manager for Porsche Design in the UAE, explains, “People want to be unique and different, they do not want to walk down the street and see someone wearing the same thing.” With the exclusivity – and price tag – that comes with this piece, we don’t see that being a problem.
Exceptional wine is the type of thing that takes ages to perfect and, sometimes, even ages to fully understand. We do, however, know that some of the very best wines come from places deep in the heart of the French country like Cote de Beaune, Cote Chalonnaise, and Cote de Nuits.
On Tuesday, July 12, join other wine connoisseurs in an intimate gathering at db Bistro Moderne to explore the intricacies of French Burgundy wines, specifically those from the family estate of Domaine Faiveley and their 2008 vintages. Guests won’t be alone on their exploration, Sommelier Michael Haycook and popular importer Adam Lapierre will be there to guide the way. Additionally, Adam LaPierre will bring along a variety of bottles of varying vintages from his own personal collection to share with the guests in attendance. The special dinner begins with a reception at 6:30 p.m. and is followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. The evening will feature Grand Cru Corton Clos des Corton and a delicate food menu created by Chef Jarrod Verbiak including Citrus Marinated Sea Scallops, Braised Pork en Daube, and a variety of finely selected cheeses and desserts.
Price is $175 per person and includes four courses with wine. For reservations, please call Sean Mulligan at 305.421.8803. db Bistro Moderne is located at 255 Biscayne Boulevard Way inside of the JW Marriott Marquis in Downtown Miami. Visit the vineyard’s website to find out more about their wines and the family.

Royal families across the globe are always under the covetous eye of the public. They always have the best of the best in their possession and it is they who represent the utmost in class. In particular, they possess some of the world’s most extraordinary feats of automotive craftsmanship. Here’s a breakdown of some of the world’s royalty and their cars of choice.
Prince Charles of United Kingdom, most recently driven by Prince William
Car of Choice: Aston Martin DB6 MKII Volante
Under actual ownership by Prince Charles but most recently with Prince William behind the wheel, we’ve seen a lot of this haute midnight blue Aston Martin convertible in the past months – but there’s a lot about this vehicle that you may not have figured out just by seeing Prince William drive off with his royal bride for their tour around London. For example, the engine runs on an alcohol-based fuel, which is extracted from the grapes grown in the British royal family’s garden.
The Qatar Royal Family
Car of Choice: Pagani Zonda Una
This rare and exotic beast of a sports car is as incredible inside as it is to look at – and is the last of its kind to be made. The turquoise and black auto was created for the royal family to use for recreational travel around the country. Boasting an incredible 7.3-liter V8 engine capable of generating a total of 690 HP, the car is speedy and powerful. Additional to this vehicle, the family also owns several other cars in this distinctive blue shade, making it characteristic of their impressive car collection.
Prince Alwaleed Bin Tala Al Saud of Saudi Arabia
Car of Choice: Rolls Royce Phantom
Although the Rolls Royce name in itself brims with exclusivity and luxury, the Phantom has generated a reputation all its own for taking privilege to the next level. Equipped with an ultra powerful 6.75-liter V12 engine capable of 453 BHP of power, the interior is equally as impressive. Finished panels in rich oak create an undeniably classy feel, while an LCD television, storage for champagne, occupant sensor, rear-active head restraints, and a slew of options for customization truly make the vehicle fit for royalty.
Queen of United Kingdom
Car of Choice: Bentley Limousine
As this is the one and only model to ever come into existence, this Bentley is certainly exclusive enough for the Queen. Custom-made for Her Majesty for all of her state travels, this magnificent maroon car boasts a transparent passenger rooftop, special monocoque chassis, custom internal cabin height to allow the Queen to stand upright upon exit, and hind doors that open at 90-degree angles for additional exit ease. More recently, the car has been highlighted as the vehicle to transport Princes William and Harry to Wills’ royal wedding.
Royal Family of Japan
Car of Choice: Toyota Limousine
With a nod to country loyalty, the Japanese royal family chooses this custom-made Toyota limousine as their official car. In line with the culture’s emphasis on producing energy-efficient vehicles, the limo possesses an array of eco-friendly features and well as the latest technology in energy-efficient engines. At 20 feet long and 6 feet wide, the classy car can fit up to 20 people. It boasts a 5-liter, V12 engine that is capable of producing more than 350 HP. Additionally, bulletproofing and special tires make it so that the car can still be driven in the event that the tires have been shot by bullets.
Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Sultan Bin Rashed al Nahyan
Car of Choice: Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG
This powerhouse of luxury was custom made to lead the Prince’s envoy – and it does so with assertiveness and class. Its design included ample use of carbon fiber in the body, making it lightweight and more aerodynamic. It boasts polished 22-inch alloy wheels and headlamps comprised of four Xenon upper beam lights and eight fog lamps. Also equipped with a 5.5-liter, 620 HP V8 engine with eight piston calipers in front and four in the back, the vehicle is more than capable of leading, regardless of terrain.
Sultan Hasan Al Bolkiah of Brunei
Car of Choice: Customized Rolls Royce with Porsche Engineering
We are all familiar with the Sultan’s lavish lifestyle, including his penchant for extraordinary cars. Possessing one of the world’s largest collections of fine cars – and an ultra-opulent aircraft – it is no surprise that his customized Rolls Royce would embody the classic, royal Rolls Royce design yet possess the aerodynamics and precise engineering of a Porsche.
The Royal Family of Thailand
Car of Choice: Cadillac Limousine
This unique yellow Cadillac Limousine is one of several luxury cars the Thai royal family owns, but this one was also re-created to be U.S. President Barack Obama’s official vehicle. It has aircraft composite doors, sleek chrome detailing on the interior of the vehicle, extra-high ceilings for comfort, and a number of additional luxe amenities.
Prince Albert II of Monaco
Car of Choice: Lexus LS 600h L Landaulet
Made as a wedding gift for the Prince’s upcoming nuptials this year, this sleek Lexus was made to include a reinforced transparent rooftop, with the design work done by Carat Duchatelet – a company renowned for its design of luxury coaches. Painted a striking midnight blue, the paint is actually a special type of water paint, which had to be painstakingly applied manually by a group of the company’s finest craftsmen.

Designed for travel at high speeds, the body is completely made from carbon fiber, making it lightweight and suitable for the astounding speeds it is capable of.
King Baudin of Belgium
Car of Choice: Mercedez-Benz Pullman 600
As the official vehicle of Belgium’s royal family, is it indicative of the King’s penchant for tech-savvy vehicles – this one a symbol of hybrid technology use. The vehicle has been equipped with all of modern hybrid technology’s bells and whistles, making it not only one of the most environmentally friendly vehicles to date, but also a classy example to set for the King’s citizens.
The Royal Family of Jordan Car of Choice: 1961 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL
This is just one of King Abdullah I’s revered collection of impressive exotic cars. It possesses a 6-liter V8 engine, which was very rare for the time, and is capable of producing 380 HP with a top speed of 155 mph. Although the King himself has an array of some of the world’s finest vehicles, this 300 SL remains as the royal family’s official vehicle.
King of Rajkot, India
Car of Choice: 1934 Rolls Royce Convertible
On top of being another custom-built beauty, this 1934 Rolls Royce convertible was also an all-weather 50 HP car – rare, especially during the time of its creation. Creative Director, Designer and CFDA honoree Andy Spade is better known as a modern-day aesthete. The co-founder of two extremely successful companies, Partner’s & Spade and Kate Spade, Andy’s sensitivity towards the beauty of art is apparent, especially upon visiting his 19th century Southampton family manor.
The residence, originally occupied by Parsons founder William Merritt Chase as the first outdoor painting school in the U.S., has successfully preserved it’s creative aesthetic thanks to the artful nature of Andy and his wife Kate Spade. A one-time painting studio has been transformed into a grand living room showcasing an array of collectables including flea market treasures from across the country to faux Picassos to model airplanes, as well Andy’s personal favorite, an original René Ricard. The walls are adorned with colorful works representative all aesthetics, including paintings, photographs, and book covers acquired from vintage bookshops.
Andy claims that the majority of his inspiration is drawn from a combination of boyhood and living in New York City, constantly surrounded by an abundance of art and creativity. His love for the outdoors gives him an innate appreciation for all of the “ordinary” things in life that he deems just as beautiful as the more important names and pieces of art. The history and memories attached to these simple treasures of his collection are what hold them most dear to the Spade family. Andy’s exquisite Southampton home is a reflection of his unique perception of beauty, and yet exudes a sort of charm appealing to all tastes.

In honor of the Table 40 Herb Garden at the InterContinental Miami, the hotel hosted a gourmet cocktail dinner earlier this month in conjunction with the city’s hottest mixologist team, Bar Lab. Headed by Elad Zvi and Gabriel Orta, Bar Lab is a local beverage consulting company that specializes in branding, marketing, and cocktail catering. Table 40 Herb Garden, located on the 5th Floor Plaza, was planted in April to further develop the hotel’s green initiatives, making it one of the very few certified green hotels in Miami. The seedlings planted in the garden are used widely throughout the hotel and of course in all items dished out at Table 40, the hotel’s very own chef’s table helmed by Chef Alex Feher. The seedlings planted in the garden include rosemary, thyme, oregano, cilantro, chive, basil, and mint.
All items on the delectable event menu created by Chef Alex Feher were inspired and picked fresh from the garden. The 40+ guests in attendance enjoyed custom made welcome cocktails by the garden on the 5th Floor Plaza Level and later dined with romantic views of Biscayne Bay. Food items on the menu included avocado and mango tuna tartare scented with cilantro, pan-seared Pacific black cod towered over asparagus salad and herb compote, and flourless chocolate cake topped with fried basil. Cocktail items on the menu included Zacapa rum infused with Georgia peaches, local Florida mint, and home made cane syrup and Ketel One Vodka with fresh Florida tangerines, fresh lemon thyme, citrus essence, and sparkling wine.
For more information about Table 40 or any of the hotel’s other restaurants, call the Intercontinental Food & Beverage Department at 305.372.4431.

DEEP TIME:
THE OMEGA SEAMASTER PLANET OCEAN CHRONOGRAPH
Omega’s best known model may be the Speedmaster Professional (flight qualified by NASA for the Apollo missions, and the first watch worn on the moon) but the Seamaster watches aren’t far behind. The Seamaster models designed for professional divers in the early 1970s were among the most technically advanced watches of their time, aimed squarely at professional SCUBA and helium mixture breathing saturation divers, and are avidly sought by collectors to this day. This year Omega introduced a worthy successor to the legendary 600 and 1000 meter dive watches originally tested by, among others, Jacques Cousteau: the Seamaster Planet Ocean Chronograph.
The Planet Ocean Chronograph’s robust but light Grade 5 titanium case houses the Omega in-house chronograph calibre 9300, featuring Omega’s high performance co-axial escapement –unlike most chronographs, the calibre 9300 places the chronograph minute and hour hands on one dial, just like the hands of a clock, making for an easy and intuitive read-off of elapsed time. A traditional central chronograph hand ticks off the elapsed seconds. As an added bonus, the hour hand can be set independently in one hour increments without stopping the watch, making resetting when traveling across multiple timezones a snap.
The bezel is in either high visibility anodized orange aluminum or scratchproof black ceramic, and the sapphire case back allows the owner to admire the movement without compromising the watch’s 600 meter water resistance, a key Seamaster feature (there’s a helium release valve as well –unecessary for anyone who doesn’t do long-term professional saturation diving, but an indicator of Omega’s commitment to real functionality in the Seamaster collection.) A bold, tough companion with a technically and aesthetically distinctive movement, the Seamaster Professional Chronograph is an asset whether you’re topside, or deep below, in what Jacques Cousteau called “the Silent World.”
