Jay-Z Revamping the 40/40 Club

Jay-Z and his business partner Juan Perez are renovating the 40/40 Club. The New York sports club, which closed its doors on the first day of June, plans to re-open to the public with an updated look and even more lavish atmosphere. Along with eye-catching new décor, the club will revamp its menu as well. Jay-Z appointed his own personal chef Mike Shand as new executive chef and Shand plans to add a few of Jay-Z’s personal favorite dishes to spice up the daily menu options.
“The 40/40 Club’s makeover will draw inspiration from the energy, grandeur and opulence of New York City nightlife,” the co-owners wrote in a letter to their clients. “We are eager to re-open our doors in September and re-introduce a revolution in luxury sports watching and nightclub experience.”
The New York location is the first of eight 40/40 clubs to open around the world, so naturally it’s the first to get a facelift.
The 40/40 Club announced that on June 1st, 2011 they will be undergoing complete renovations from floor to ceiling and will re-open their doors at the end of summer. The total investment in this renovation project will reach over $10 million.
