Ice, Baby, Ice: Minus5 Creates a Replica of Kim Kardashian’s Engagement Ring

Minus5 Ice Bar now sports an icy replica of Kim Kardashian's engagement ring.
When Kris Humphries proposed to Kim Kardashian May 18, he went with a 20.5-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring. Now Minus5 Ice Bar in Las Vegas has gone just as big. In honor of the reality TV star’s recent engagement, Minus5 created a stunning replica of Kardashian’s 20-plus-carat engagment ring, made completely out of ice and weighing in at nearly 500 pounds. The icy “gem” will be on display in Minus5 Ice Bars located at Mandalay Place and Monte Carlo throughout 2011, where visitors can take photos with the ring while enjoying a Kim Kardashian-inspired Belvedere cocktail named Ice Ice Baby?, featuring Belvedere Raspberry vodka, pineapple juice and coconut.
Word is that Kardashian now sports a cubic zirconia replica of her $2 million engagement ring, a lesson she learned when sister Khloe nearly lost hers during a scuffle at a New York bar. Her rock from Los Angeles Lakers player Lamar Odom slipped off her finger, but Khloe found it on the ground.
The ice-themed bar lets guests enjoy vodka cocktails served in a glass made of pure ice, all within in the beauty of a -5 degrees Celsius (23 degrees Fahrenheit) ice environment. This chilly experience begins with donning Minus5 parkas, gloves and boots and entering a frozen room complete with ice walls, an ice bar, ice seating covered with faux fur pelts, ice tables and a variety of ice sculptures. Then the whole place is lit up with an LED light show.
