Haute Event: Bruno Mars at Marquee Dayclub and Tao

Bruno Mars celebrates his concert after-party at Tao.

Bruno Mars spent the afternoon before his Las Vegas concert at the Pearl at the Palms hanging at Marquee Dayclub at the Cosmopolitan with friends on Thursday. As he drank Coronas and danced around, girls came over to ask for photos and he had the attention of every Marquee cocktail server. Mars wanted to stay all day, and he was bummed when he had to leave for the sound check for his concert later that night.

After the concert, Bruno Mars made his way to Tao at the Venetian for his official after concert party. He was surprised with a cake celebrating the end of the tour, but the music wasn’t over quite yet. He headed to the stage with a guitar in hand along with his keyboard player and bongos. The Worship Thursday crowd erupted in cheers as he started with his hit, “Just the Way You Are,” letting the crowd sing the last chorus. The impromptu set continued with “The Lazy Song,” and wrapped with “Grenades,” The celebration continued back at the table where he danced and took shots, joined for one drink by tour mate Janelle Monae.

Up in a VIP skybox, Danger Mouse, the Grammy-winning producer and one half of Gnarls Barkley, and Dan Auerbach from The Black Keys kept a low profile while enjoying a break from the recording studio.
