Evolutionary Road

Cartier’sÉvasionsJoaillières Collection injects the famed French high-jewelry house with new blood. The Maison’s latest brainchild, the collection was born of a desire to overstep proverbial boundaries and simultaneously touch upon the most wonderful references so often tapped by Cartier: style, time, color and influences from far and away. While modern in execution, the collection manages to reinterpret themes imbedded deeply in the Cartier DNA—geometry, color combinations, even abstraction have a hand in the delivery of its delicate beauty and bold presence. The subtle pairing of pink opals and onyx and  pink and black sapphires reads like the balance of a yin-yang, opposing but existing splendidly together. The idea is for these elements to take a divine journey through time and space, coming together in the place where the history of Cartier meets the magic of the future.

Cartier Bracelet, ÉvasionsJoaillières Collection in 18k rose gold, pink opals, onyx, pink sapphires, black sapphires, and diamonds, $37,000; available at Cartier, 653 Fifth Avenue, New York, 212-446-3400; 828 Madison Avenue, New York, 212-472-6400; and Cartier at Bal Harbour Shops, 9700 Collins Avenue, Bal Harbour, 305-864-8793
