Haute Event: Pawn Stars Eat and Drink at Beso Steakhouse and Eve Nightclub

Chumlee, Rick Harrison and Corey Harrison

America’s favorite “Pawn Star” Rick Harrison aka “The Spotter” was spotted at Eva Longoria’s opulent Eve Nightclub at Crystals at CityCenter on Friday night.

The History Channel star started off the night at Eva Longoria’s celebrated Beso Steakhouse. Harrison and his son Corey Harrison noshed on rib eye, bone-in New York strip steak, truffle mac and cheese and lobster mashed potatoes.

Harrison, his son and “Pawn Star” co-star Austin “Chumlee” Russell walked the red carpet before they moved on to the nightclub upstairs.  The trio looked cool and casual, with Rick Harrison wearing jeans and a blue and gray blazer, Corey Harrison in jeans and a white collared shirt and Russell in jeans and a white T-shirt. The Vegas locals were overheard saying how beautiful the club was and how happy they were to be there.

Harrison and his group of 15 relaxed in Eve Nightclub’s exclusive VIP section drinking Grey Goose cocktails with cranberry, orange juice and Red Bull mixers.

Haute Spot: Escape the Summer Heat at La Maison du Chocolat
by Julie Balefsky

We often take advantage of the fact that there are so many delicious chocolate places in the city. There are three La Maison du Chocolats in Manhattan alone, with another nearby in Short Hills, NJ. But if you live in New York, consider yourself extremely fortunate; these four boutiques are the only La Maison du Chocolats in the entire U.S.

So whether you’re looking for the perfect gift to reimburse the generous friends whose summerhouse you plan to spend many weekends, or you’re just looking for a delicious way to escape the ‘haute’ Manhattan weather, La Maison du Chocolat is the ideal remedy. They have recently introduced their summer collection named ‘Chiberta’ after the beautiful and decadent countryside of France. Each chocolate in the collection has a story of its own.  My personal favorite was the Etzia, a creamy milk chocolate ganache flavored with the floral sweetness of wildflower honey and chestnut honey from the Basque mountains in France (0.12lb-$24).

In addition to the exquisite chocolate selection, the Salvador Rasberry Mousse cake, a creation by Robert Linxe, founder of La Maison du Chocolat, combines the dark chocolate mousse and semi-cooked raspberry with a delicate chocolate biscuit. The Macaroon Sylvia and the variety of ice creams and sorbets were enough to send me straight to heaven. The ice cream flavors are chocolate, pistachio, and caramel, and the sorbet flavors are strawberry and rasberry. At $4.50 a scoop, this cold treat is just the thing to cool you off this summer.

Haute Event: Nelly Performs at Chateau; Scott Disick Celebrates His Birthday with Kourtney Kardashian

Nelly performs at Chateau Nightclub and Gardens.

Platinum-selling recording artist, Nelly, put on an epic performance at Chateau Nightclub & Gardens at Paris Las Vegas on Friday.

The “Pimp Juice” singer walked the red carpet around 1 a.m. wearing a black T-shirt, dark denim jeans and bright blue Nike tennis shoes. After posing for photographers and fans, Nelly headed upstairs to the nightclub, where he put on a performance that party-goers won’t soon forget.  The St. Lunatic sang several of his hits including, “E.I.,” “Flap Your Wings” and “Country Grammar.” The packed nightclub went wild when he performed his hit, “Hot in Here,” and proceeded to take off his shirt and thank the crowd for coming out to support him.

Spotted at a table in the VIP section singing and dancing along as Nelly hit the stage were NFL stars Darelle Revis, Dwight Freeney, Trai Essex, Jason Allen, Joe Hayden, Abe Elam along with the San Antonio Spurs’ Da’Sean Butler and NBA newcomer John Flowers.

After his high-energy performance, Nelly and his entourage of family and friends took over a large booth, where they drank Ciroc vodka and Patron tequila while fans snapped photos of the music superstar.

Also walking the red carpet was reality TV couple Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian from E! Entertainment’s most popular series, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” Disick arrived looking effortlessly stylish in black slacks and a houndstooth Tom Ford blazer while his gorgeous girlfriend walked the carpet in a cream, sequined dress by Rachel Roy and sky-high Christian Louboutin pumps. The duo were in town celebrating Disick’s 28th birthday.

The world’s most famous adult entertainment star Jenna Jameson also walked the red carpet at Chateau Nightclub on Friday. The blonde bombshell, who celebrated her birthday at Chateau just over a month a go, showed off her famous curves in a thigh-skimming white, chiffon dress while posing happily for photographers and fans.

Andre Balazs Launches Seaplane Service for New Yorkers
by Blair Cassuto

Haute 100 New York member, Andre Balazs, New York City hotelier and residential developer, has plans to launch a seaplane service for city dwellers and hotel guests heading to the Hamptons for their summertime sojourns.

The airborne shuttle will bring people from the 23rd Street seaport to the East Hampton airport. Eventually, Balazs plans to give travelers the option to charter the plane to other east coast hot spots like Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, Cape Cod, and the Hudson Valley.

The flight service will be available to the public, but staying at the Standard in the Meatpacking District or Sunset Beach (Balazs’ Shelter Island hotel) will have its perks where guests will be able to book room and shuttle package deals at reasonable prices.  The short ride should help ease the harrowing weekend traffic and a good deal of stress for travelers.

Gisela’s Journal: Trip to Paris and London

My time in Paris was amazing. We ate lunch at Hotel Costes, where they have the best dessert called framboises du bois (a very small strawberry variety that you can only get in France) with creme fraiche. We also went to see the Anish Kapoor Exhibit at the Grand Palais. I have never seen such a fabulous exhibit.

We then headed to London. Walking down New Bond Street is so nice (even with heavy rain!) But the rain took us inside to Harvey Nichols. A must try is the Food Market – a food boutique on the fifth floor of Harvey Nichols. No matter what diet you are on, you have to try their desserts.

We also dined at so many delicious restaurants. One night we ate dinner at La Petite Maison, which is a place where all the locals gather regularly. The menu has an extensive variety of fish, chicken and meat. If you are lucky you might bump into people like Ronnie Wood!

Now I am off to Madrid! My driver to the airport was one of the nicest taxi drivers I have ever met! We tried to take the Heathrow Express (the train that goes right to the airport–the fastest way). But it turns out it was on strike and the trains where running on a 30-minute schedule. My driver grabbed his iPhone and googled it to show us what was happening.

I shared with him that I thought London taxi drivers are always so nice and polite, and never try to trick tourists. He thanked me and told me with pride, “Probably because it takes about three years to become a taxi driver! Three years of blood, sweat and tears. Streets, places of public interest, museums, history, etc; what you have to study is more than in a university. This country really makes sure we are very well prepared!”

We then started talking about his children and differences in parenting styles and I learned a new Brit slang: “You are so lush” means that you have made a “cushy” life when kids have it easy at home…something parents always struggle with. He told me, “No doubt, mothers are superwomen! They do much more.”

Haute Event: Coca-Cola’s 125th Birthday Celebration

Whether young or old, in Miami or Rome, people instantly recognize the iconic brand that is Coca-Cola. It is one of the few things in this world that truly transcends a variety of cultures and time. Hardcore Coca-Cola lovers gathered in New York’s IAC Building this past week to celebrate the brand’s 125th Birthday. The party was held in conjunction with ASSOULINE Publishing, which premiered two brand new Coca-Cola inspired products: the book Coca-Cola and the Coca-Cola iPad app, which will allow guests to enter Coca-Cola’s virtual world through a variety of interactive videos and animations. The app launches on iTunes on June 2. Known for its amazing art and fashion books, ASSOULINE’s Coca-Cola is a beauty with vivid imagery, history, and nostalgic advertisements. It is a true collector’s item for all Coca-Cola fans!

VIP guests in attendance included Whitney Port, Kelly Bensimon, and Adam Lippes, all of which are die-hard coke fans. Whitney Port was quoted with the following during the event: “Coca-Cola is something that will never go out of style and the new book is a testament to that! My first memory of Coca-Cola was enjoying an ice cold glass while watching my brother play baseball, and every time I drink it today, it reminds me of good times.”

Decor paid homage to the classic red and white, while hors d’oeuvres and cocktails were infused with the flavors of Coca-Cola: Coca-Cola glazed lamb skewers and Coca-Cola cupcakes. The night’s signature cocktail also Coca-Cola infused, naturally, and with a nod to nostalgia, the Filmograph Redux- popcorn and butter infused Bourbon paired with Coca-Cola.

Any excuse for a Coke is a good one, so don’t forget to celebrate their 125th with your family and friends. Then (just maybe) your happiness will inspire you to buy the world a coke.
