Mahalo Mondays: Support Local Nonprofits at Hula’s Modern Tiki

Hula’s Modern Tiki, a favorite Phoenix destination for island cuisine and tropical drinks, hosts Mahalo Mondays each month, during which 10 percent of the day’s gross proceeds are donated to a designated local nonprofit. The recipient throughout the month of May will be the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Mahalo Mondays at Hula’s Modern Tiki occurs virtually year-round, with the restaurant choosing to donate proceeds to such organizations as Friends of Animal Care & Control, Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS, 100 Club of Arizona, The First Tee of Phoenix, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Phoenix Art Museum, Free Arts of Arizona and others.

No coupons are required for guests to participate. Just shop up on a Monday and order your meal and drinks as per usual — then rest assured that 10 percent of your bill will benefit a local nonprofit.

“We’re part of a great community with tremendous nonprofit agencies serving so many men, women and children in need,” says M. Dana Mulé, owner of Hula’s Modern Tiki. “This is our way of supporting those efforts.

May’s recipient will be the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Phoenix, which offers a comfortable, welcoming and affordable home-away-from-home for families while their children undergo medical treatment at Valley hospitals. Since 1985, the charity has hosted more than 30,000 visits from families, who are asked to pay just $15 per night to stay at the House; however, no family is ever turned away because of inability to pay.

Visit Hula Modern Tiki’s website for further details regarding Mahalo Mondays and to learn which organizations will benefit in the future.

Hula’s Modern Tiki is located at 4700 N. Central Ave. in Phoenix 602.265.TIKI (8454)
