Hautos: Rolls-Royce Parks in Malaysia

Asia is not wasting a breath between bankrolls as its world-leading luxury industry continues to steamroll over the recession. Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, in Malaysia is the newest location where Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has decided to park itself. The official opening of its latest showroom owned by, Quill Motorcars, was revealed by Paul Harris, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Asia Pacific Regional Director, Brenda Pek, General Manager South & East Asia Pacific and Dato’ Michael Ong, Managing Director of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Kuala Lumpur.

Paul Harris had this to say to the press regarding the opening: “We continue to invest in a Malaysian market buoyed by the country’s economic growth and growing appetite for super-luxury cars. Our presence signals our commitment to providing service support for current and future customers, many of whom are new to the brand.”

The modest 2,400-square-foot showroom inside the impressive Quill 9 building is tactically located at the epicenter of movement with easy access to roadways and becomes the 18th Rolls-Royce venture in the Asia-Pacific region, but the first for Malaysia. The space accommodates three Rolls-Royce vehicles along with a plush lounge equipped with software that gives patient customers the opportunity to build their own ride straight from the manufacturing plant at Goodwood, West Sussex.

Dato’ Michael Ong remarked, “We are honoured to be able to offer the world’s best automobiles, and aspire to develop and provide for a vibrant Rolls-Royce community in Malaysia.”

Rolls-Royce maintains a fleet of five distinctive models including, Phantom, Phantom Extended Wheelbase, Phantom Drophead Coupé, Phantom Coupé, and the all-new Rolls-Royce Ghost, the first of a new model series, due to preview in Kuala Lumpur by the end of the month with a local service station to follow closely behind.
