Earlier today, Jaguar aficionados had a reason to smile as the luxury car brand announced the addition of the C-X75 Hybrid to their fleet. The upscale eco-friendly supercar was first exposed to public eyes at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. Jaguar claims the exterior look of the original concept car will be used in production of the new model.

The C-X75 will feature a small-capacity, high-boosted internal combustion engine partnered with two commanding electric motors. The light chassis will be constructed using carbon fiber. Like the Chevrolet Volt, the new Jag should be able to maneuver on electric only for about 30 miles after a full charge. The car should be able to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in less than three seconds, and zero to 100 mph takes less than six seconds. The car has a maximum speed of 200 mph, closely in competition with the Porsche 918 Spyder plug-in hybrid.

Williams F1, a Formula One race-car builder and team, alongside Jaguar designers will be working on the final blueprints of the super vehicle where only 250 will be built.  They are expected to cost between $1 million and $1.5 million for those looking for a piece of history or sweet wheels to add to their collection. According to the Pursuitist, Jaguar did not disclose when production would begin, offering these few words, “within the timescales of a conventional model program.”  In the realm of car building, this translates to about three to four years, which should be enough time for a few investments to distribute some superfluous greenbacks.
