In 2009, “Star Trek” finally became a movie. In 2014, trekkies and adventure seekers alike will have even more to look forward to. A billion dollar 184-acre entertainment resort is to be built in the coastal town of Aqaba, Jordan, and will feature a Star Trek attraction inspired by the big screen adaptation.

The resort, The Red Sea Astrarium (TRSA), is being designed and produced by Rubicon Holding Group, while the Star Trek attraction itself is being developed by Paramount Recreation. The attraction will deliver not 21st, not 22nd, but 23rd-century multi-sensory experiences, including a state-of-the-art space-flight adventure like nothing thrill-seekers have seen before.

The entertainment destination will utilize renewable technologies and host a “future” pavilion where businesses, students, and visitors can learn about green energy sources.

The resort will also play on the rich history of the area, with Nabatean, Babylonian, British and Roman influences. In addition to TRSA’s impressive array of technologically advanced attractions, the resort will feature five-star accommodations, captivating theatrical productions, and unique shopping and dining. How about that for a haute enterprise?
