Haute Yachts: The Ultra-Luxurious Heesen Megayacht “Blind Date” On Sale for $40 Million

Not the average girl your friend tried to set you up with that one time, the Blind Date is a supremely crafted 48.9-meter megayacht built by Heesen in 2009, and has recently been listed for sale for approximately $40 million through Merle Wood & Associates. Behind the design of the ultra luxurious craft were Omega Architects’ Frank Laupman for the exterior and the UK’s Keech Green for interiors. Together, the duo joined forces with the shipyard’s in-house team to create the ultimate luxury megayacht.

The opulent watercraft boasts some ultra-luxe features in its layout, including a wheelhouse deck extension with a gymnasium, liquid metal finished spiral staircase to connect the four decks, a full dining suite on the aft bridge deck, and a sundeck with a large Jacuzzi and a sprinkler system to cool off sun-baked surfaces.

According to JamesList, the interior has been updated to incorporate an Art Deco feel with accents of marble, silk, and sensuous cashmere throughout. The Blind Date is capable of comfortably accommodating ten guests in four cabins on the lower deck and one full beam owner’s suite on the main deck. Each cabin has its own private bathroom paneled with semiprecious stones, including a whopping six different types of onyx.

While the stunning design in itself is extraordinary, the machine itself is just as superior. It is powered by a pair of MTU 8V 4000 M70 engines and can achieve a maximum speed of over 15 knots.
