Haute Style: Bliss Lau returns to Hawaii for two events
by Catherine E. Toth

When Hawaii-born fashion designer Bliss Lau unveiled her Fall 2011 collection, not only did she do it on Super Bowl Sunday, but she draped her body jewelry on six ballerinas who spun and twirled on the runway.
The New York City-based Lau — a product of Punahou School who graduated from Parsons The New School for Design and quickly made a name for herself as a handbag designer — is bringing her body jewelry-ballet fusion to Hawaii for two fashion events in May.
Lau will be part of a fashion panel from 2 to 4 p.m. this Saturday, May 28 at the Waikiki EDITION Lobby Bar. And she will host “Fashion as Art,” featuring her beautifully architectural handmade pieces — which she refers to as “sensual armor” — using local ballerinas as models at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 29 at the Waikiki EDITION Lobby Bar. (This fashion event was conceptualized by creative director Christian Stroble.)
Cost for the event is $10. For more information or to purchase tickets, click here.
