Ferrari Store in London Showcases Designs of “Cities of Tomorrow”
by Georgia Lewis

London’s Regent Street is a fabulous spot for high-end shopping as well as being the site of the city’s most marvelous Christmas lights which are turned on each year by a celebrity.

Given the premium price tags at many of the shops along this historic strip, it’s no surprise that plenty of people pass by just to window-shop. Now the flagship Ferrari store has given people another great reason to press their noses onto the glass and dream. The Royal Institute of British Architects have joined forces with Ferrari to present a window display that is themed around their vision for the “Cities of Tomorrow.”

The eye-catching urban settings, designed by Duggan Morris Architects, could very well set the tone for streetscapes in cities new and old. The designs are meant to inspire cities everywhere to create sustainable environments that work for both pedestrians as well as those behind the wheel. And because every big city attracts money and more than a few Ferrari drivers, the displays combine the latest in architecture with Ferarri memorabilia past and present.

Even if you can’t afford one of the sexiest sportscars around, the window display is well worth the trip into the centre of London–and the memorabilia is for sale too.

The window display will be on show until May 29.
