Andre Balazs Launches Seaplane Service for New Yorkers
by Blair Cassuto

Haute 100 New York member, Andre Balazs, New York City hotelier and residential developer, has plans to launch a seaplane service for city dwellers and hotel guests heading to the Hamptons for their summertime sojourns.
The airborne shuttle will bring people from the 23rd Street seaport to the East Hampton airport. Eventually, Balazs plans to give travelers the option to charter the plane to other east coast hot spots like Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, Cape Cod, and the Hudson Valley.
The flight service will be available to the public, but staying at the Standard in the Meatpacking District or Sunset Beach (Balazs’ Shelter Island hotel) will have its perks where guests will be able to book room and shuttle package deals at reasonable prices. The short ride should help ease the harrowing weekend traffic and a good deal of stress for travelers.
