Palm Beach Centennial

Since its inception in 1911 by founder Henry Flagler as an exotic oasis conveniently located on the Florida coastline, Palm Beach has remained the fascination of the world’s rich and famous, rightfully garnering the nickname, “America’s Riviera.” In the one hundred years that have since passed, much of Palm Beach’s landscape has changed, but the city’s legacy as being a fashionable resort destination truly lives on today with an ever-increasing number of international, high-end retailers, and some of the finest dining and hospitality experiences in the world.

To commemorate Palm Beach’s 100th anniversary, a special weekend has been dedicated to celebrate the town’s official birthday. The festivities begin Friday, April 15th with the Palm Beach Centennial Kick Off Reception at The Mar-a-Lago Club. The celebration continues on Saturday with The Palm Beach Centennial Ambassador’s Ball at The Breakers Palm Beach, followed by an open to the public All-Town Celebration at The Flagler Museum on Sunday.

Island Company

Although Island Company first began in 2002, the company’s CEO, Spencer Antle, claims to be “one of the few fashion companies left in Palm Beach County.” It seems only fitting, then, that Island Company has taken residence on Worth Avenue, showcasing their signature island couture that epitomizes relaxation and comfort. With celebrity approval from Johnny Depp, among others, Island Company is making waves in swimwear, especially with its persuasive t-shirt slogan that advises you to quit your job, move to a beach, find romance, and never return. What more convincing could you possibly need?

Zaras Antiques

Foravenue strollers looking to splurge on a rare, one-of-a-kind memento for their home, and have a penchant for the Rococo, look no further than Zaras Antiques. Specializing in investment-grade porcelain from the 18th and 19th centuries, of both European and Chinese origin that includes many prized Meissen pieces, Zaras is a shopping experience like no other on the island. With an atmosphere more closely akin to a museum rather than a boutique, Zaras makes each guest feel welcomed into a historical era of royal luxury and opulent decadence.

A.R.T. Worth Avenue

Among the most interesting and unique boutiques to choose from on Palm Beach’s “strip” is A.R.T. Worth Avenue, a world-class destination selling some of the most sought after jewelry designers in the business. A.R.T. features artisans like Jacob & Co., Neil Lane, Me&Ro, and Ashok Sancheti, just to name a few, and is dedicated to displaying the talents of each of their jewelers as an artist, that is, to showcase their craft in a setting that befits the quality of their designs.

Stubbs & Wootton

Stubbs & Wootton has become renowned in Palm Beach as a symbol of refined relaxation. Their signature velvet slippers and shoes, for men and women, are considered essential wear for anyone adhering to the “rebel prep” look, as S&W founder Percy Steinhart has described it, and reinterprets the Edwardian tradition of trading ones muddy outdoor shoes for a pair of hand-made needlepoint slippers, or “house shoes,” that were more comfortable, and, of course, clean. With tradition and craftsmanship in mind, each pair of S&W slippers is hand-sewn by a small community of Spanish artisans, ensuring the finest in quality and style.

Pratesi

Pratesi has long been known as a one of the world’s premier outlets for luxury linens. With only two locations in the United States, New York City and Palm Beach, Pratesi has kept their legend alive by maintaining a reclusive, if not secretive allure among those unwilling to settle for anything less than the absolute finest quality cotton goods. Although the Pratesi store in Palm Beach has been open on Worth Avenue for nearly 40 years, it still provides its luxury clientele with superior goods that always seem to shock with their comfort and softness.
