Van Cleef & Arpels Celebrates Springtime with Helen Amy Murray

Spring now has its own address: Van Cleef & Arpels.

Following on from the success of the ‘Les Voyages Extraordinaires’ collection, which was unveiled at last month’s Art Dubai, the Maison of Eternal Renewal celebrates springtime and invites a contemporary artist to create. This year the honour is bestowed on Helen Amy Murray.

Helen Amy Murray is internationally recognised for hand-crafted, sculptural creations inspired by nature and form, to create 3D surfaces within textiles. This talented young designer from the UK works with precious materials such as leather, suede, silk and other luxury fabrics to create delicate works of art. Her new collaboration with Van Cleef & Arples eptitomises the playfulness that comes in the springtime–textile sculptures bring the window displays to life through her clever use of colour and an eye for design. Flowers, both spectacular and delicate, have grown in the night. Amazing peonies appear. Oversized, they shelter Lotus, Hawaii or Socrate rings and Tuileries clips.

Murray felt that the collaboration with Maison Van Cleef & Arples was a union through a shared love of nature: “My collaboration with Van Cleef & Arpels has led me to create insects and flowers; an inspiration which was already essential to my work. When I admire the creations of the Maison, also born of a passion for flowers, insects and birds, I see that the connection is obvious.”

The Broderie and Folie des Prés collections celebrate the Maison’s floral inspiration; a Fleurette bracelet or Mystery Setting clip bloom at the foot of the floral stems. Dragonfly clips and Two Butterfly rings take flight; the Flying Butterfly bracelets flutter above and gather nectar from these incredible textile flowers. A pair of Frivole earrings unfurls. Flowerlace or Cosmos sway between two miniature screens while Fil de l’Eau pendants float on lively waters.

The collection and stunning window installations are now ready to be admired at the Dubai Mall.
