On Thursday, May 5, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art presents “Artists on Artists: Double Spaced,” an event organized by members of SMoCA’s Artist Advisory Committee that showcases the work of local artists.
Curated by Melinda Bergman and Saskia Jordá, this installment of the Artists on Artists series features five visual artists with unique stories to tell, including Julia Anand, Christy Puetz, Tessa Windt, as well as fiber artist Margaret Leininger and digital media artist Cristóbal Martinez. After each artist has presented his or her thoughts on their dual artistic practices, there will be time for discussion and interaction.
The “Artists on Artists: Double Spaced” event will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Stage 2 Theater in the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. The event is free to attend, and in fact, admission to the SMoCA is free all day on Thursdays. Additional exhibitions currently on display at the museum include “Dance With Camera,” “Imagining Dance” and “Rivane Neuenschwander: A Day Like Any Other.”
The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art is located at 7374 E. Second Street in Scottsdale 480.874.4666
