by Susie Wong

Chef Extraordinare Jose Andres

On May 5, this year’s 9th Annual Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research Program Wine Aficionado Dinner will pair gastronomic genius, José Andrés and his sumptuous Spanish cuisine with an elite international selection of fine wines.

The hip Beverly Hills SLS Hotel will host supporters and food and wine enthusiasts for “Cinco de Vino,” a fundraising event featuring wines from Champagne, Burgundy, Rhone and America as well as Spanish selections from Rioja, Ribera del Duero and Priorat. Wine Aficionado’ s intimate and charitable event has a limited number of seats available. Tickets are being sold at $1,250 per person or $10,000 per table of ten, and are available by online, by calling 323.330.0509 or emailing info@bogartfoundation.org.

Ticket sales and silent auctions have helped collect nearly $2 million for “Bench to Bedside” pediatric cancer research at the Bogart labs at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.  “For the past nine years the Bogart Wine Aficionado Dinner has brought together Los Angeles’ most vibrant wine enthusiasts to produce an unforgettable evening in the name of the most important cause we can support, our children,” said event chair and partner at Creative Artists Agency, Bob Bookman. “Every year we feel compelled to raise the bar, and the 2011 dinner is destined to be our best ever.”

This year’s live auction will feature such items as a a dinner with the world’s leading Burgundy authority, Allen Meadows, a coveted seat on the Robb Report Magazine annual “Car of the Year” panel, a collection of fine and rare wines rated 99-points by leading wine critic Robert Parker, and much more.
