Tonight: Roy & Lea Black Host Blacks’ Annual Gala with Performances by Pharrell, Pitbull, and Dionne Warwick

For the past 17 years, Miami’s most esteemed philanthropist duo, prominent Miami attorney Roy Black and his wife, Lea Black (now of Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Miami”), have planned and hosted one of Miami’s most prestigious and anticipated charity events of the year; and this year is no exception.
Tonight, the Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach will be abuzz as some of the biggest names in entertainment, philanthropy, and society will join together for the Blacks’ Annual Gala.
The evening will include red carpet arrivals, cocktail reception courtesy of Grey Goose vodka, gourmet dinner by Chef Thorsten Leighty of Eden Roc Renaissance, and live and silent auctions. 100 percent of the money raised from the event will go toward The Consequences Charity and Foundation for their “Education versus Incarceration” program, which helps more than 7,500 at-risk youth and teens each year.
“This is our 17th year doing our charity gala and raising money to give kids who are acting out ‘opportunities’ for education, vocational training, and exposure to the arts, in lieu of incarceration,” Lea Black explains. “Our work with the Juvenile Services Department of Miami-Dade is unprecedented in its ability to help these children envision a future beyond their current circumstances.”
This year, recording artists Pharrell Williams & Pitbull (a Miami Native) will be performing in addition to renowned Grammy Award winning artist Dionne Warwick will perform, in keeping with this year’s theme, “That’s What Friends Are For.” In addition, the official DJ of the Miami Heat, DJ Irie, will keep the music going all night long.
The Blacks’ Annual Gala will take place at 7 p.m. at Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach, 4525 Collins Ave. www.theblacksannualgala.com.
