Haute Event: John Walsh Hosts Charity Event to Benefit the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children
by Rachel Taylor

As a part of the many events that were all the buzz during the seventh annual AMG Miami Beach Polo World Cup, one in particular of honorable mention was the Charity Auction and live concert from Reggae band ‘Inner Circle’ held on Saturday, April 23. Proceeds from the event went to benefit the commendable organization of The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, hosted by native Floridian, avid Polo player, and famed TV host of Americas Most Wanted, John Walsh.

John Walsh has dedicated his life to not only ‘catching the bad guys’ to make the world a safer place, but also to matters closer to his own heart. He and his wife, Reve, started the organization out of their own garage 30 years ago after a traumatic and personal experience where their six year old son was kidnapped and murdered.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children now provides a support system for families suffering from tragic situations involving their beloved children and also to help educate parents, children and the community on how to avoid such horrific encounters from occurring.

Although the evening had a serious undertone, it was by no means a somber event and guests attending the Mercedes-AMG sponsored event at the VIP Polo tent sipped the night away on specialty Grey Goose cocktails and danced the night away to the live performance from Inner Circle’s upbeat grooves.

The evening also had a positive impact from a small but heartfelt auction where treats from the major sponsors from this years Polo World Cup were rallied off with proceeds going towards The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children Organization fund. Panama Jack auctioned off a personalized beach cruiser, Nespresso put forth one of their top of the line espresso machines and wines from Argentina’s Don Miguel Gascon winery were just a few of the goodies that guests were competing for. Yet another successful charity event bought to fruition because of big hearts, great music, and generous people in the Polo scene!
